Zimbabwe’s- Mana Pools, Bumi Hills and Houseboating on Lake Kariba
While the area above Victoria Falls might be termed the Upper Zambezi, the area below the falls, primarily from Kariba Dam down the Zambezi River to Mana Pools in Zimbabwe, is generally referred to as the Zambezi Valley and is another one of the great wilderness areas in Africa.
Itinerary
Day 1
Fly into Lusaka or Harare and transfer by road or light aircraft to Kariba Town to board the Umbozha Houseboat before leaving for Matusadona National Park, or take a speed boat transfer across to Rhino Lodge.
Day 2 to 3
Spend days on the Houseboat exploring different areas of the Dam and Matusadona from tender boats and Tiger Fishing.
Day 4 to 5
Transfer to Bumi Hills Lodge for 2 nights to explore the area on game drives
Day 6
Transfer by speedboat back to Kariba and on to Chirundo by road for a river transfer on to Ruckomechi Camp in Mana Pools.
Day 7,8 and 9
Spend the next 3 nights at Ruckomechi Camp exploring the area.
Day 10
Transfer back to Lusaka or Harare by River and Road transfer or by light Aircraft.
